Bell Brings the Revolutionary FCX-001 to Market 10x Faster with HTC VIVE

VIVE helped Sector 5 Digital and Bell reinvent the aircraft design process using interactive, virtual mock-ups, saving Bell millions in production costs.

AEC | Manufacturing | Design/Visualization | Case Study

As the designer of the first aircraft to break the sound barrier, Bell is well-versed in innovation.  When VIVE virtual reality hardware and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software allowed the Sector 5 Digital agency and Bell designers and engineers to make real-time changes to virtual models it was an “Aha!” moment for Bell’s creative team. With virtual mock-ups and interactive modeling, Bell was able to save millions of dollars in prototype production costs and create a full-scale model of the futuristic FCX-001 in just 6 months – a process that usually takes 5-7 years.

Download the case study to discover why Bell is not only going to continue to utilize VR in their design process, but also look to expand the use of VR to meet training and maintenance needs in the future.
