Batch configuration features

Check the features that can be set or enabled when creating the batch configuration package.
System preferences Description
General features Set the system language, date, device volume, and passthrough features.
Network Set Wi‍-Fi and VPN options.

You can upload more than one Wi-Fi and VPN certificate.

Boundary
  • Set the boundary color and transparency.
  • Automatically activate passthrough when out of bounds.
  • Show floor bound.
Input Allow hand tracking, eye tracking, and lip tracking if the app supports it.
Camera settings Choose the power frequency of your local power outlet and set if you want to allow recording and casting when passthrough is activated.
Advanced
  • Enable USB debugging.
  • Power the headset via the USB port. This allows you to use the headset without the battery on the back. You'll need at least a 30 W power adapter for this feature. (VIVE Focus Vision only)
  • Allow installing apps from unknown sources.
  • Enable the IR Illuminator. (VIVE Focus Vision only)
  • Set the time when the headset goes to sleep.
  • Keep the device enrolled even after performing a factory reset.
Library Description
Default app store Choose whether to use VIVEPORT or VIVE Business AppStore as the app store for the device.
Apps - Pre-installed Select the pre-installed apps you want to show on the headset.
Kiosk mode Description
Settings
  • Turn on Enter Kiosk mode to automatically enter Kiosk mode when the headset is turned on.
  • Set a Passcode so users need to enter one to exit Kiosk mode.

    Warning: When setting a passcode that is longer than four digits, make sure the headset's ROM supports it. If not, the headset will not be able to exit Kiosk mode. When setting the passcode, hover over the blue headset icon to check the headset ROM version supported.

  • Set connection, screen casting, and screenshot and screen recording permissions.
Assign apps Click Select to assign apps for Kiosk mode. Click Type to select apps that are uploaded to VIVE Business+, in the device Library, or unmanaged.
Network permission Set Wi‍-Fi connection preference.
Input Set the VR interaction method.
Tutorial settings Set which tutorials will be shown.
Advanced (Pro and Ultimate) Description
Tracking settings
VIVE Home dashboard Select the items you want to hide on the headset.
  • Store is where apps can be downloaded.
  • Library is where users can select an app to launch in the headset.
  • Settings is the headset settings where you can set preferences and options.
  • Profile is where the user can sign in to an HTC account.
Hardware button
  • Button on VIVE acccessory: This is only applicable if the controller is paired and turned on. If you're using hand tracking, you can always press the headset button to open the VIVE Menu.
  • Volume button: When disabled, volume buttons can't be used. This means that you can't adjust the volume, take screenshots or screen recordings, or use the volume buttons to execute tasks.
  • Headset button: When disabled, the headset button can't be used to open the headset menu and VIVE Menu (when using hand tracking).
VIVE Reality System
Volume settings
  • Volume safety notification: Turn on to display a warning dialog when the volume level reaches 67%. You'll need to press OK in order to go higher than 67%. When off, the warning dialog will not appear. This option needs to be turned on for the volume level to go beyond 67%.
  • Volume adjustment bar: When off, the bar won't show when you press the volume buttons. You can check the current volume level in settings.
  • Dismiss volume safety notification by pressing volume up button: Select to allow pressing the volume up button to dismiss the warning dialog and to increase the volume level beyond 67%.
Audio settings
Switch to external mic: Turn on to use an external mic that's connected to the 3.5 mm audio jack on the headset. If a mic is not connected, the headset's built-in mic will be used.
System notifications
  • Low battery notification: Turn on to show a notification in VR when the battery level is down to 15%.
  • IPD adjustment overlay: Turn on to show a window with the current distance between lenses information when adjusting the IPD.
System dialog box
  • USB connection: Turn on to show the Choose USB mode dialog every time the headset is connected to the computer. When off, the default USB mode will be used when the headset is connected to the computer.
  • Pair controller: Turn on to show the Pair controllers dialog when there are no paired controllers detected. When off, the dialog won't show. You can go to Inputs in settings to pair controllers.
System transition
  • App: Turn on to show the VIVE logo animation when switching between apps.
  • Shutdown screen image: Turn on to show the VIVE logo when turning off the headset.
VIVE Menu
  • VIVE menu: Turn on to enable the VIVE Menu. When off, the VIVE Menu can't be opened using the controller, headset button, or hand gestures.
  • Open VIVE Menu with headset button: Turn on to let you open the VIVE Menu by pressing the headset button. When off, a controller needs to be paired and turned on. If there is no available controller, the VIVE Menu can still be opened by pressing the headset button.
  • Open VIVE Menu with hand gesture: Turn on to let you open the VIVE Menu with hand gestures. When off, the VIVE Menu won't open when using the right hand inward pinch gesture.
Headset button menu
Function menu: Turn off to disable the headset button menu.

You can only exit Kiosk mode through the headset button menu. If this is off and you're in Kiosk mode, you won't be able to exit Kiosk mode.

Device startup settings Set a startup logo or animation when the device starts up. Check the following when creating a startup logo or animation.
For startup logo
  • File format: PNG
  • Image dimensions: 2048 × 2048 pixels or smaller
  • File size: 350 KB or less
For startup animation
  • Sequence of images must be in the PNG file format.
  • Each image's file size in the animation must be 350 KB or less.
  • Each image's image dimension in the animation must be 2048 × 2048 pixels or smaller.
When a startup animation is selected, set the Logo animation duration.
Initial setup (OOBE) Turn on Skip setup and choose one of the following:
  • Skip entire initial setup: Skip setup and go straight to Home or Lobby.
  • Skip to room setup: Skip the setup steps prior to setting up your play area.
Others
  • Allow sending and receiving commands from VIVE Wrist Tracker and VIVE Ultimate Tracker.
  • Enable anti-recoil for VIVE Wrist Tracker.
Advanced (Standard) Description
Tracking settings Set tracking modes.
VIVE Reality System

Developer (Pro and Ultimate) Description
Use custom APIs

The VIVE Customized API offers enterprise-level APIs for developers and independent software vendors, specifically designed for VIVE partners with experience in Android development.

To register your app to use VIVE Customized APIs, reach out to your HTC account manager to get the additional dependency libraries and sample code documents. Then create a batch configuration package to register your app by entering its certificate fingerprint. See Creating a batch configuration package.
