Passenger Mode
Passenger Mode uses the headset's internal measurement unit (IMU) sensor to track devices and generate poses using only rotational motion (3DoF).
Passenger Mode utilizes inverse kinematics to prevent tracking performance from being affected by the physical environment. Controllers in Passenger Mode work best when above waist height and in close proximity to the user. Although Passenger Mode provides a smooth, stable tracking experience, drift may still occur over time due to accumulated yaw rotations.
Passenger Mode is useful for VR simulators, guided vehicles, and certain types of amusement park rides.
For details on the requirements, see Requirements. For details on setting up Passenger Mode, see Setting up the headsets.
