Setup 2: Deploy Gas Meter in Horizontal Confined Space
In this setup, the trainee will calibrate a 5-gas meter, and then monitor the horizontal confined space with the 5-gas meter.
The console will then ask them if it is safe to enter the confined space.
The following appears on the console screen:
Walk over to confined space entrance and take your gas meter and hold it in your hand.
A blue destination circle will appear on the ground in front of the confined space. When the trainee walks to it, it disappears and a positive beep plays.
The following appears on the console screen:
Push calibrate button on gas meter.
The trainee must push the blue CALIRABTE button on the 5-gas meter, a positive beep plays, and then the following text appears on the console screen:
With the other hand, take the sensor of the gas meter and place it close to confined space entrance to measure its atmosphere. Read the values from gas meter.
The trainee must then take the 5-gas meter and place it into the confined space. The readings will indicate if the confined space is safe.
If safe, the circle on the meter screen will turn green, and a positive beep will play.
If not safe, the circle on the 5-gas meter screen will turn red, and a negative buzz will play.
The following appears on the console screen:
When you're confident you've seen enough you can place gas meter back to the belt. Is it safe to enter? Please select your answer below.
The trainee must answer by pushing the blue YES or NO buttons under the console screen. If the trainee waits too long, the setup will reset, and they must measure the atmosphere in the confined space again.
Once the trainee responds, the next setup will begin, regardless of correctness.
If the trainee answers correctly, the setup completes and is marked as successful if no other fail conditions were triggered.
If the trainee answers incorrectly, the setup completes and is marked as failed.
If gas meter is dropped from the platform, the setup is marked as failed. It respawns and the trainee must still complete the setup.
