Setup 4: Radio to notify affected workers
In this setup the trainee will practice notifying affected employees using the radio.
The trainee starts on the platform with the console in front of them and a hydraulic press to their right. The radio the trainee carries on their belt has a
NOTIFY button.
The following appears on the console screen:
Before beginning service work on equipment, you need to notify all affected employees of your work. Please take the radio from your belt and use it by pressing the button with your other hand.
When the trainee presses NOTIFY, the following voice over plays:
Shutting down unit for repairs.
After trainee presses NOTIFY, the following text appears on the console screen:
You can put away the radio back to your belt now. Take the wrench from the belt and hold it in your hand.
After the trainee has the wrench, the following will appear on the console screen:
Service the hydraulic press touching it with the wrench. At the moment, the machine is completely disconnected from any power source so it's safe to service.
Touch with wrench will appear in blue above the hydraulic press, and will disappear once the trainee uses the wrench on the hydraulic press.
When the trainee uses the wrench on the hydraulic press, a green circle will appear, followed by a check mark when the action is completed, and a positive beep will play.
The following appears on the console screen:
Good job! Now that you're done, you can put away the wrench on your belt and take the radio again. Use it to notify affected employees that you've finished the work.
After trainee presses NOTIFY after servicing the hydraulic press, the following voice over plays:
Bringing unit back online.
The setup will be complete.
The setup is marked as failed if the radio or wrench was lost, or if the trainee uses the wrench on the hydraulic press before affected workers have been notified.
